Something Big Is Coming to Texas—And Think+ Customers Get First Access

We’ve been working on something for a while now, and we’re finally ready to talk about it. If you’re an Energy Advisor with Think+, you already know that our job isn’t just to find customers a better rate—it’s to find them a better energy solution. Sometimes that means a smarter plan. Sometimes that means a new product. And every once in a while, it means introducing something that genuinely changes the conversation. This is one of those moments.

We’re thrilled to introduce our newest product partner: Energywell. And we’re even more excited to share that Energywell’s home battery backup program is now available to Think Energy customers in Texas.

What Is the Energywell Battery Program?

At its core, it’s simple: Energywell installs a whole-home battery backup system in a customer’s home—at no upfront cost and with no monthly equipment fee—and connects them to a competitive fixed-rate electricity plan at 7.8kw/hr that’s locked in for the first five years, with the Lowest Rate Guarantee protecting them at every renewal for the full 15-year term of the battery agreement.

The hardware is the EcoFlow OCEAN Pro—a battery system that TIME Magazine named one of its Best Inventions of 2025. An equivalent system, purchased and installed independently, would run a homeowner more than $15,000. Through this program, they get it for $0. No installation fees. No equipment cost.

Here’s how the program works.

Your customer enrolls in Energywell and switches to their fixed-rate energy plan. Their home battery gets installed by a local certified technician who handles permits, setup, and everything in between. When the grid goes down, the battery kicks in automatically—usually so fast the homeowner won’t even notice the interruption.

That last part tends to land well.

There’s nothing for them to manage and nothing to fuss over. A fixed, competitive electricity rate, whole-home battery backup, and a place in Energywell’s Connected Energy Community. One offer, all of it handled.

Why We’re Excited to Bring This to Texas

We’re constantly evaluating new energy solutions for our network. We’re picky about what we put in front of our EAs and even pickier about what we put in front of customers. When we started conversations about the Energywell battery product, a few things stood out immediately.

First, the product is genuinely differentiated. This isn’t another commodity electricity plan dressed up with a loyalty reward. It’s a whole-home energy solution that delivers real, tangible value—backup power, a fixed rate locked in for the term, and zero installation cost—in a single, integrated offer.

Second, the model is honest. The reason Energywell can offer a battery system at no cost is straightforward: your home’s battery participates in what Energywell calls a Connected Energy Community—a network of home batteries that collectively support grid resilience during periods of high demand. That participation creates value, and Energywell passes it back to the customer in the form of a preferred rate and free installation. It’s a smart idea, and it’s one that’s easy to explain.

And Texas homeowners get it. After living through winter storms and grid stress events, backup power isn’t a luxury—it’s a conversation that practically opens itself.

Third, and maybe most importantly for our EAs: this offer is easy to share. You’re not pitching a product—you’re introducing customers to a smarter way to power their home.

The Offer at a Glance

Here’s what an eligible customer gets when they enroll through Think+:

A fixed-rate electricity plan locked in for five years, with the Lowest Rate Guarantee at every renewal for the full 15-year battery term. At renewal, Energywell’s rate is guaranteed to be the lowest comparable fixed rate available—or the customer can walk away, penalty-free. They also get a place in the Connected Energy Community, contributing to a more resilient grid across Texas.

There’s a $99 refundable deposit at enrollment to kick off the permitting and site survey process—it comes back after the customer’s first bill, or in full if they change their mind before permits are submitted. Other than that, they only pay for the energy they use each month, plus a $19/month base charge that’s part of the fixed-rate plan.

A Quick Note on Eligibility

The program is designed for homeowners—renters aren’t eligible. The home needs to be a single-family, owner-occupied residence (no apartments, townhomes, condos, or manufactured homes). Homes with existing solar or an existing battery backup system won’t qualify at launch. A brief Virtual Site Survey confirms whether a home is a good fit for installation.

For most homeowners in your Think Energy customer base, those boxes are easy to check. Introduce the offer naturally and let the product do its job.

Texas Capacity Is Heating Up!

We want to be honest with you: interest in home storage in Texas is at an all-time high and our installation schedules are filling fast as a result! Customers who move early will be in the earlier phases of installations. That’s part of what makes this a compelling conversation to have right now. This isn’t a product that will sit on a shelf. The customers who act will be the ones who get access.

Think of it the way you think about any market launch with limited availability. The story you’re telling isn’t just “here’s a great product.” It’s “here’s a great product, and your neighbors are going to start hearing about this soon.” That’s real urgency.

This Is Why Think+ Exists

We’re not in the business of pointing customers toward the first available option. We’re in the business of finding the best products in the market, vetting them against what our customers actually need, and making those connections in a way that’s transparent and trustworthy.

Energywell is the latest example of that. We believe in what they’ve built, we believe in what it does for Texas homeowners, and we believe it’s a genuinely easy, natural conversation for our EAs to have.

So go have it.

If you’re a Think+ EA and you want to learn more about how to introduce this to your customers, stay plugged into the newsletter, battery events and trainings, and help your customers get enrolled for AutoSave firsts. That’s their early access to a battery invitation.
